I've already bought a Block, but am signed up to order a Monome as soon as they come on sale in Jan! Now they've done that greyscale beast, I'm totally sold.

I really don't get what everybody is all excited about with this. Please explain.

Re: grayscale monome sixty-four
it looks sweet, is a monochrome monome, i love personally white leds (my house is only led lit), and the monomes per se are great inspirational devices that allow you anything (but you have to be creative to do anything useful with them).
they are sort of the minimalism of buttonary controllers only buttons, and they can only be "on" or "off". not for everyone, but it sure got put to good use by quite some artists by now.

I've known what a monome is for a long time but since the APC40, Launchpad, and several Livid controllers came out I fail to see how just changing the colors makes it excitement worthy, but I guess I have higher expectations. Carry on.

Dood! your thinking too much about it. It's a monochrome monome! and it's monochrome - and it's a monome!!!!

Re: grayscale monome sixty-four
agree. launchpad has 16 more buttons, its tightly integrated in live, it´s slimmer, has more colours and is half the price. If that thing was velocity sensitive, ok, then it would have a little edge on the other products, but I havent seen any info about that.beats me wrote:citizenchris099 wrote:mike@TrackTeam Audio wrote:

I guess my sarcasm wasnt detected there. Sure it is cool looking but whats the point? Doesnt do anything different than previous monomes. Ok well withthis eletronics config they can make a bus powered 128- which is cool- but does nothing for this. Would love to see these guys do something new and dope.
