Is Live hard to learn?
I have played with reason and got that... I really like what Live has to offer but is it hard to learn... I have tried Logic but it was hard to get...
I am trying to read the manual but it seems kinda of confusing.... Well so did reason but I had someone teach me hands on...
What are your thoughts and experiences?
Thanks for looking

try a little tenderness
it does take a bit of time, but it's a great app for everything being up front. there are not a lot of submenus or preferences to dig thru. just the work flow and concepts are a bit different (i find this a good thing). definitely try the demo before you spring for it to make sure it's something you'll be able to work with.

And keep in mind -- It seems that no two people use Live exactly the same way. Some people live in the session view, some people love to sequence, some use it to "dj" as it were....
So really, it's up to you....
You could just use it as a sort of "glove" for Reason -- capturing loops, and the like.
There are no hard and fast rules.

I just like how you can use plugins.... I know I might get ahead of myself with buying all this stuff this weekend... ie atmosphere and stylus rmx... which it will take me time to just get to know Live before I can use those plugins,,, but it will be there though... I am a dj, and I like to produce... And i want to be able to perform live or both.. Live seems like it is the best for this..... wish me luck
hi
i havent used live for so long(still has so much to learn)but its my plan to use ableton as my sequencer and then produce the most of my sound in reaktor 4 that im learning to use as a vst in live(im tired of using so many samples,i want to make my own styles)
but ableton is a really good program and use it with reaktor then damn u got some possibilities to make your own unique styles and sound

And...
And there's the book Ableton Live Power!. I'm reading it, much more descriptive than the frigging manual...
Turn up the radio. Turn up the tape machine. Look into the sunset up ahead. Roll the windows down for a better taste of the cool desert wind. Ah yes. This is what it's all about. Total control now.

I still can't get the hang of it. I think it's a fairly difficult program to GET.
All the best,
