this EUR vs USD pricing confuses me. If I remember correctly, I've always been able to choose which currency I'd like to pay in since my local currency is neitherone of those. technically I'm in europe, though, but still i think i only have paid in USD...

Over half of their M4L sales will be from people who never have any intention of building their own devices. Why would they just give those people that for free and lose all those sales?
My honest guess was 399 for M4L, I think 299 is quite reasonable.

Don't really see why anyone should go mental over a friendly disscussion, though some people on here do seem a little sensitive.RAVE wrote:4/4 is going to go fooking mental reading this LOL

Talking of being sensitive, RAVE, you sig is not very nice, do you really think everyone here is a loser?
Not at all my friend. If you click on the image it will take you to my latest work in progress called Loser.

That's where a runtime version of M4L comes in, doesn't it? lol.glitchrock-buddha wrote:Over half of their M4L sales will be from people who never have any intention of building their own devices. Why would they just give those people that for free and lose all those sales?

Oh for 50 bucks? Sorry, let me rephrase. Why would ableton just throw away 249 dollars when so many people will likely buy M4L just for other peoples devices? The way I see it it's like Reaktor. So many Reaktor owners own it just for the already made ensembles and user library, and it's still great value for that and they know it. I can't see M4L being split up, for similar reasons.LoopStationZebra wrote:That's where a runtime version of M4L comes in, doesn't it? lol.glitchrock-buddha wrote:Over half of their M4L sales will be from people who never have any intention of building their own devices. you don't see NI releasing a free Reaktor runtime do you?

Do you work for free? If you do, you're grazing in a field of 'tard.
Why should Ableton/Cycling '74 work for free?
I dont want free shit , I just dont want to pay for shit LOL
Re: Max4Live, Max4live Lite, Max4Live R/T. Which one are you?
Well, I think the Max-RT has to be seen in the way it is. Max is often used for installations and live performances ... So, for installations you normally do not want to have a license of Max bound to the computer used in the installation (and therefore unaccessable for work) so you can make the patch work and then use the RunTime environment for installation operation.
There is not such case for Live - as Live itself has no runtime.
I think there should be a player (like the kore-player) that allows Ableton and Cycling to bundle pre-determined patches with Live. That is free and is in every version of Live (you cannot load you own patches - it is that - get me interested ...)
Then there should be a non-editor version that allows user to use stuff from others - what most here consider the RT ... maybe it should be the same price as M4L for Max users, as the indent is to use exactly the functionality that was added to Max for M4L. (that is what Max-owners pay I suppose)
And of course what is already coming ....

how do you figure that ? There's nothing in this thread that is at odds with my views.
Anyways I didn't vote because the POLL only allows 1 vote and I'd have voted for all three.
