Go into support/drivers and they're there without selecting OS.

Any other people have good experience with these?

Bit hesitant to go updating my OSX and have them do same as before.

post results please?

Post by vince watson » Sun Feb 27, 2005 11:33 pm

could users please post results of these new drivers compatibilty on the problems forum as there are still lots of (crazy in my opinion) users who are putting up with problems on there setups due to the pathetic previous attempts at making drivers by this company.....especially for osx.

i hope these new ones use less than the 30% cpu the old ones used!! (and thats an official figure from m-audio)

thanks

What a shame; I just exchanged my m-audio 410 for a firebox after the 410 quit being recognized under both mac os and windows. I liked the quality of that card, but the driver issues were really annoying... good to hear that m-audio seems to be taking things in the right direction, though. Do the new drivers allow you to hot-swap the card now?

It is indeed good news. Even better news will be when some brave soul takes the plunge then posts the news that it works ok here, bit nervous about using the new drivers myself....

Sorry, see now that Tol had tried them himself. Out of interest what card were you using? I've got the FW410 so any unfo regarding that card would be really appreciated. Cheers

Well, the new drivers aren't working with my FW410 - I'm getting sound output which sounds like it's going through BT's hands first - nothing but stuttering and drop outs in all applications, even iTunes.

What a shame to hear that there are problems with 410... Have you un-installed old drivers first? Did the global search and removed all "m-audio" file types? etc;
I own Audiophile FW and now can get to 7ms (128 samples) without any problems and with 64 samples can manage playback only also without any issues :) Performance wise I don't see any "hit" on CPU (fluctuates between 1 and 4%). Overall dramatic improvement over 1.2.8 drivers. I don't understand why there is a difference in 410 performance as all of M-Audio FW devices use exactly the same drivers...
Kind Regards,

Yep, did the whole thing, uninstalled everything globally, repaired permissions before and after the install - and the drivers simply didn't work on my system. I went back to the 1.2.4 drivers, which work like a charm.
