Pretty sure he did it with sampler by dragging audio slices from session view into different zones in the sampler. I tried it this way after watching the video and it worked. Of course, I think he's using 7 and now one could just divide an audio sample up in session view and slice to new midi. Think you'd get the same effect in a drum rack.

When I watched the vid I thought it was just a feature in Sampler. If it isn't, it would be a nice feature to add. You could tell it to chop it up evenly over x number of keys on the keyboard.

Shame that is ISN'T that easy.

the easiest thing to do is load up your sample mark where you want it to be sliced with a warp marker then right click, select slice to midi, you then get a drop down menu "create 1 slice per" just select warp marker. hen just select a slicing preset, i use "slice to single sampler.

it kind of is that easy, when you slice to midi you have the option to specify fixed measures 1/8 1/16 1/32 slicing like that takes no account of the sample material so can be little hit and miss with regards to the resultant slices.

Not true. You can also slice by Warp Marker as someone above you suggested.

Just place warp markers every where you want to create a slice, right click, select slice to midi, slice to a single sampler, and for increments, choose warp marker.
