Me too... I was one of that "silly" early adopters more than once. The gratitude was a bunch of bugs and a special discount afterwards. Now it's time for other to act as betatester. I will buy M4L in spring-time... Bug-free and at a special discount...Emissary wrote:Same boat here. Bought and sucessfully turned my monome into a launchpad with a patch from the monome forums.
Max noob, so trying to learn from other peoples patches. Might have a look at getting mlr inside live with sensible routings, sync with Live was always a pain with mlr.

Not yet.. it looks cool..
Re: Have you bought M4L?
bought it.
testing it since the private beta, I'm finishing a big patch which is my protodeck controller interface.
no bugs
no latency with my 2Go RAM + dual core T7200, even with my big patch with around 100 live.remote~, 100 live.objects and a lot of path API grabbing.
no installation problem
a dream for only 79€ for me.

you probably don't need a DAW to make music too.condra wrote:I don't need MFL to make music.

I'm glad I came here to research a little maxforlive before purchase! Thanks for the tip!Emissary wrote:Same boat here. Re: Have you bought M4L?
I want to buy M4L but first I would like to know should I have max5 license? Currently, I'm selected demo mode for ableton8.1 and on attempt to open any m4l patch in editor, max5 authorization window appear. So I wonder if I buy m4l can I edit patches and save them without max5 license?
Re: Have you bought M4L?
you do not need a max license.
max4Live is max/msp and jitter built into Live with some new max/msp objects thrown in that work just for Live.
existing max/msp owners get a discount on max4Live but that doesn't apply here.

Thank you for information.
Just want to clarify, is it true in case if I don't have max5 license:
1) Max5 application will open when I press edit button in max4live patch, right?
2) I can save this patch in live library, correct?
Re: Have you bought M4L?
yes.
saved max4Live patches are saved as .amxd files.
you can also import stuff made in max/msp into max4Live with file-open.
