delaying a clip in a scene

Post by technocrat » Mon Mar 07, 2005 5:42 pm

Is it possible to delay a clip say 3 bars before it plays in a scene without recording blank space in front of it?

yes, in the clip propeties turn off global quantize, then set the quantize value in the clip properties to the amount of time u wish to delay it by.

oh yeah you can also use the clip envelopes... click UNLINKED for the volume, then get the beginning of the loop range and drag it out to extend to the duration of the gap you want. following that, you can modify the clip envelope to have silence for the part you wish to be mute before it kicks in

sorry to keep adding stuff, but you can have a clip thats set to be silent and use the follow actions so that the silent clip plays for the duration u wish, then it triggers the clip you wanna play.
