I think it's fine as is.

Besides, they don't seem to take forum changes lightly. It took us years of posting, polling, and begging just to get a post your music section added, so I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for entirely new forum software to be deployed if I were you.

The only thing I would care to see change is better search.
MBP | Live 9 Suite | Max for Live | Push | MOTU Ultralite | iPad | Analog Modular Synths | Moog Voyager
aka "Tempus3r" | Music | Blog | Twitter | Soundcloud

terrible to find something, as it lists each post individually. if i want to find others from switzerland, and search for that, i get the whole polanski thread as thousands of search results.

More than your average forum.

I would like to see Live incorporate chat/sharing functions that allowed people to send files and collaborate on projects in a more integrated manner than at present. So yes, an upgrade would be welcomed but something that was more than just writing messages.

and every member that is telling a newbie to check out already existing threads about something that has been asked already a hundred times should be flamed to death (in real, burned like a witch) because it is impossible to find anything without spending a ridiculous amount of time and then you still need to be lucky to find something you look for at all.

excepted the chat feature, I guess you wait for share.

I guess I'm not the only one to post image, code or other thing.
The attachement feature is a very basic feature of CMS/Forum scripts.

Switching for phpBB forum CMS to another is automatized today. No more time to waste with that. Only one click (or a couple)
So I just ask again, please, give us a better forum place :)
This big forums are powerful, very visited and this is one of your force.

nice features could be:
- advanced search
- attachment feature
- chat feature
- social network connection
- download section
etc

invision board forum or portal provides that : http://www.invisionpower.com/products/
smf forum engine too: http://www.simplemachines.org/about/features.php
and there are a lot of others.

The search function should just link to : http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en

It's pretty much the only way to find something here.
