Anyone going to imax had better get there early - it's being said that anyone sitting on the sides of the theater will not have the same quality 3d experience as people sitting in the middle toward the rear (a.k.a. the cherry seats).

Well it's a nice way to get people into the cinemas again, worldwide.
Downloading this movie, without 3d glasses has no much use. 8)

I was hyped about two years ago. After watching the first preview I just...

Yeah I'm walking into this with the assumption that Avatar is really going to suck ass. I'd rather be wrong.

Now about Avatar: The Last Airbender due out next July...

to each their own,

but no......

totally not..............

i love James Cameron's stuff like Terminator 1&2,Aliens.

i'm probably one of the few in the universe who hasn't (and didn't WANT to) watch(ed) Titanic......

Avatar trailer tells me it's a typical look-what-we-can-do-with-computer-now-cannonfoddermovie.

hollywood is collapsing, desperately trying to get that last bit of trashcash they can collect.

when was the last time they stimulated the production of a REALLY GOOD movie(in all possible ways),and provided the directors total artistic freedom?

sorry for the rant.....

For a long time all the images I saw and things I'd heard made me think it was going to be pure shit. A live action/CGI Fern Gully.

But the reviews are undeniable from all corners. I've yet to read a bad one.

*shrug*
I came for the
But stayed for the :x

Terminator 2 was one of very few $100 million+ films that cost $110 million and LOOKED like it cost that much. I was damn impressed.

Rumor has it that Avatar's budget was anywhere between $300-$400 million. I'm betting it'll look more like $110 milli. Anytime I watch a trailer and it seems they only want to show the bulk of 1 or 2 action sequences...it never fails. I hope it's a really good flick though.

Thanks to the soundtrack I know exactly what happens in the movie, even thought the trailer is one giant spoiler as well.

Check out the track listings if you want to know exactly what happens: http://www.amazon.com/Avatar-James-Horner/dp/B002P5XXR0

Both versions are available. 3D and 2D.

This has been the issue, Cameron or (the franchise) has spent a fortune, getting the 3D players into the cinemas, some small cinemas, possibly won't be suporting the 3D versions for this reason, but it's still a big gamble, frankly I won't be seeing the 3D version until I've seen the 2D first, as I want my experience of viewing to be compared to the 39 years of non 3D viewing I've been experiencing.

I would really like the technology to work, but there are some obvious pit falls, that get mentioned all the time, like glasses wearing, blured or ghosted images, and as someone put up on here earlier, focus and point of reference.

Perhaps this is my chance to make it rich, custom 3D glasses, your own fat or thin pair, some like eye protection goggles, great chance to contact google, and make a mint on addvertising..

Ha Ha Ha...

Regards.

No amount of money can make up for the lack of depth that the plot obviously has.
No way in hell am I seeing it, just like I didn't see Twilight, just like any number of other movies that have previews that tell the entire story. Besides I hate furrys (people with sexual fetishism directed towards cartoon animal characters) with a passion, this is 'their' movie, that thought alone grosses me out.
