Magic Mouse anyone?
Magic Mouse anyone?
Does anyone have the apple magic mouse?
I got mine a fews days ago, would be nice to use it as an xy-pad and other stuff.
Too bad I'm on Windows, so atm I can't even use the gestures from Better Touch Tool. Will have to go for osx86, or maybe Midiyoke will find a way on Windows.
Have you guys thought of other useful audio/midi-applications for that nice little thingy?
BTW: Happy XMas!

A friend of mine got one for xmas early, it's a pretty cool little device for sure. I just wish they were a tad taller and more curved, not sure how well my hand would be after a day using that.

I had it and returned it. I didn't like the feel and response of it at all, even after installing Mouse Zoom to increase the tracking speed. It doesn't compare to my Logitech imho.

Not bad! Will have to try osx86 to check it out...
are there any programs using the multitouch functionality of the macbook touchpads for midi/audio applications?
and what about zooming in live... can you map a 2finger-spread to the live zoom with magic prefs?

I got one for X mas but....
I'm using os 10.4.11 which it's not compatible with.... ouch huh!
I kept it so far but I'm thinking about returning it.

I love mine. Definitely the best mouse I've ever had. I use it for long long periods of time and my hands never hurt from using.
Now my legs hurting from sitting on the floor is a different story but hopefully that will change soon.

I don't like it either. Nothing compares to my Logitech m555b mouse, especially with the super fast scrolling.
Re: Magic Mouse anyone?
I was about to take mine back but it ran away. ..thinking he might be under the couch now, bye!

Me too, so farrdomain wrote:I love it
Is there software that adds more control, for instance when two fingers move away from each other (to zoom Arrange, for instance)? That doesn't seem to happen yet with the standard configuration.

any mouse is clunky and slow compared to a decent trackball...

after having macbooks for so long, nothing compares to a good trackpad, haha
Re: Magic Mouse anyone?
To be honest I was disappointed with mine at first, but after loading up Magic Prefs I realized what an amazing piece of technology it is (and under used). AND... going back to the original post, a midi interpreting app could be amazing. The mouse can track up to 5 points, so not only x/y, but rotations, pinching scaling, multi finger swipes, area control. You could control a host of synth parameters with it. The only problem would be bluetooth device + ghetto hack app + Live = uber latency. But still, it would be awesome.
Anyone out there with osx coding skills to make this a reality?
