if anything everything mentioned in this thread is a testament to what can be done with an atari st, akai sampler and a roland JV. if you where lucky you had a 303 and 808 to hand.

my studio is 100 times more powerful than what these guys had and im still making shit music!!

I'm liking a lot of the stuff here, but some of the lighter vocal stuff is missing I think

Rui Da Silva Touch me
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wudILTgQGOs

Delerium - Silence (Oakenfold/Tiesto)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueW0xyG-p9A

Tori Amos / Armand Van Helden - Professional widow
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XszE4RynIKU

Hatiras - Spaced Invader
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eld2BVOaHyI
I also like the vocal version, although the video is terrible, for amusements sake here it is :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZHZpAtKGYM&fmt=18

And I can't help but like (and admire) the commercial juggernaut which is Michael Gray's Weekend
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GR8jOJZERhs

and just to finally counteract all the serious-face minimal and mid 90s ripping darkness the supreme gaylord test, Robin S : Show Me love
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBM-K-B_2gQ

guaranteed to get the bears mincing

Well don't know if it ever was a classic, but I love it since yesterday, when I first heard it in the Movie "National Lampoon's European Vacation":

Alexander Robotnick - Problemes D' Amour (1983)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1danE_Fr764

This plays when the Griswolds watch in a dance show in paris... the beat matches perfectly with the bouncing boobs of the top-nude-aerobic-dancers in that scene(must have helped me to remember the song somehow )!
Love that analog sound... and the guy still makes music, very nice: http://www.myspace.com/alexanderrobotnick

I LOVE THESE SONGS!!! I want to cry because, it's over! I played these in the club when they came out, and kept playing 10 years later, only to find the heart, somehow, is gone. LONG LIVE THIS MUSIC!
