highlights disappear in drop down menus

Not a huge deal I guess, but I'm wondering if anyone else on Snow Leopard is getting this.

If I close Live and then come back later and open it, the screen will lag and not move for about 2 seconds. After it will work okay but when you click on any drop down items that usually have a highlight (ie - clicking on mixer would have speaker on, track panning, volume, etc..) drop down and highlight when you're over each. This does not happen.

Again, very minor thing but odd and I'm guessing is because of snow leopard. It was happening on 8.04 and is still happening on 8.05.

Anyway, thanks hope things keep going relatively smooth.

I just updated to 8.1 and this is still happening. Anyone have any ideas? It's really annoying when you're going through all the menus and the yellow highlight isn't showing up. Help!!!

Really? I'm the only person who this is happening to?? I sent a complaint about this to ableton 5 days again and no response.

Here's a screen grab of what's going. As you can see, no yellow highlight when I click on anything that drops down. Really frustrating when I have to keep making adjustments.

I'm having the same incredibly bad lag problems with 8.1 on my Mac and Windows Laptop (I use a Windows laptop with solid state drive for performance). It's virtually worthless for me to use its so laggy so I'm sticking with 8.09 until they fix this bug.

Got a support reply which seems to work:

Please try this:
- close Live
- delete the content of these two folders:
/Users/[username]/Library/Caches/Ableton/Cache/Web/
/Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Ableton/Live 8.1/Database/
- delete your "Template.als" and "Preferences.cfg" files (same folder as the Log.txt)-
- restart Live

Please note that V8.1.1 seems to have fixed all problems, try it out if you haven't!

hmmm... I don't think any of the updates fixed anything. I wiped my HD and started over and the problem was still happening. Through trial and error, I finally figured out it was this little bastard that was doing it...

Shades a little app the dims the screen. I use it because I have an iMac and the screen is incredibly bright, I guess I can live without it though. I contacted support and they said it's "an APE application (application enhancer), these are known to possible cause all kinds of problems as they make changes
to the core functionality of the OS X operating system."

So (cross my fingers) I hope this solves it. Also explains why no one else was getting this problem. I doubt many use this shades app.
