Akai APC 20
Re: Akai APC 20
Seriously here...WTF is Akai thinking? It literally is a APC40 cut in half! Did they have a over-production of the fader/grid parts & needed something to do with them? If they're gonna treat the APC series as they have with the MPD & MPC, then they be working on a APC80 or 120 or something to actually brag about & raise our eyebrows in the future---EVOLUTION not DE-EVOLUTION dudes.

not directed at anyone in particular...
I don't get why people whine about controllers, just don't buy it FFS. sure enough, every single time a new controller is announced people are whining about it. there are dozens of them out there, mix and match what works for you.

Re: Akai APC 20
i seriously believe they are on purpose badly designed, that way it's easier to come up with new stuff, without to much thinking.IP wrote:how difficult is to make this shit?

a real good thought trough controller would stop the market.

Maybe, but if they were concerned about the dj, I think they would have left the cross fader in.

Re: Akai APC 20
for me its about missed opportunities.. the APC20 is just too easy; cut it in half.. dang.. on the shelves..Tone Deft wrote:I don't get why people whine about controllers, just don't buy it FFS.
it's still a performance orientated controller while they could've gone for a more production/jam orientated one..
too bad..

I wish they (or Korg) would make a nano sized 16 rotary with visuals bus powered device.
GO VEGAN!!! - Macbook Air, Bass Station II, Some Korg shit, Live Suite, U-He, Audio Damage, Microtonic, Ohmicide, more soft stuffs, awesome controllers, euro rack modular synth,an awesome cat.

Re: Akai APC 20
you don't need a crossfader, though. most of the guys i know that DJ just leave the crossfader dead center and use the faders. the only DJs that "need" crossfaders are the turntablists.
i bought the APC and i bought the launchpad and as i would much rather have a unit that matches the APC in terms of design sitting next to it, this just isn't cutting it! it's as if the product makers don't listen to their customers or don't even bother asking them what they want to begin with! pretty bad company model if they expect to stay in business if you ask me.
the days of the MPC are numbered and i would think they're trying to come up with something more like Maschine by now. but the lack of ingenuity and originality and common sense with respect to the APC20 makes me wonder if a company can survive when their obvious bread-and-butter product only costs $400 instead of the thousands the MPC used to bring in.

Re: Akai APC 20
lol apc20, why is it called a 20 if it has the same amount of clip launch buttons, probably just a smaller number for a smaller product. Looks ugly tho fail on akai.
