[6404] A serious error has occured....

Post by Mashup » Mon Jan 11, 2010 9:48 pm

Every time i load one of my songs up and try and do anything to it (Play, delete, change volumes) i receive a message telling me 'A serious error has occured and Ableton will close when you click ok'
It's one of my best tracks and its needed for rehearsals.

is there anything i can do to work out why its crashing?

What version of Live do you have, and what machine are you running?

I'm running Live 8.1 on a single core 3ghz with 3Gb of ram. Obviously i cant do a million tracks, but anything up to 20 tracks works fine

Hello,

it would be very interesting to have a look into your Live Set here. Could you please send your Live set (without the samples) to carsten.henssinger@ableton.com?

It would also be helpful to send you crash logs as a zipped archive. You can find the logs at <username>/Library/Logs/CrashReporter.

Best,
Carsten

Hi Mashup,

we were able to identify one crash when closing Live. There seems to be a
problem with both DSK Synthopia and DSK Brass: if you delete two instances
of either of these plugs subsequently, the second instance will cause the
crash.

We did try to contact DSK, but it seems the programmer has closed the website
(and the project):

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/printview ... &start=300

If you have any other reproducible crashes, it would be great if you could
describe the steps that lead to the crashes.

Cheers,
Jan

and as for the crashes. that set seems to crash if i do anything to the midi tracks. Now i have the EIC pack i really want to change the instruments from the old plugins to EIC but everytime i try and replace any plugins with the EIC, it'll give the serious error message and close. sometimes it actually changes them, then i click to save the set and again, i get the serious error message... its becoming pretty damn stressfull as a lot of work went into that track and its 2 weeks till we're all going into the studio to rehearse it!!!!
