I wanted to share the video tutorial I made for using dummy clips as rhythmic gates: http://nextstepaudio.com/pads-leads/tri ... eton-live/

cheers,

precisely the reason I've been asking for Bézier curves for some time now

Thanks! Imagine how cool it would be if there were better envelop drawing tools.... So many creative possibilities with all of that.

Yeah nice one.

I dont know why ableton are so slow/reluctant to and more drawing options... They added cross fade curves for audio clips, so it's part done already, now they just have to finish the job.

Very well done. I've done stuff like that before but I like how you used the return and dummy clips so you can use the curves on any track whenever you want.

I added the next step audio to my facebook to ensure that I am always updated whenever they update. I've come to greatly admire the laid back yet explicit nature of these videos. I am also hoping to use them as a reference to get friends introduced to some fun basic ideas.

Nice vid.

After I watched it, I kinda thought, "why didn't I think of that?!?"

Thanks!
