Drugs and Creativity
Drugs and Creativity
I'm sorry I got a question, So when it comes to music producing and mixing some people say the use of drugs really expand there mind and give them fresh ideas....Now by no means is this post to say hey go do drugs, But From every one I have got seen get lifted from pot to acid, coke to special K everyone seems just kinda plastered and I dont think that it would really help. But at the same time the people I know are really lazy and not really into music like I am.
I dont do drugs a drink and me being drunk isnt a good mix when producing, Helps a bit lossen up before a show but, what are your thoughts?

that stuff affects everyone differently, there is no single answer. judging it by your friends is an indicator but don't project those observations onto everyone and everything.

Are you kidding? You get sooooo much done when frying on Acid or X. I mean, think of all the gum you can chew...
I think there is a difference between doing something relentlessly and then adding drugs as opposed to do something while on drugs. Does that make sense? What I mean is if some painter gets high on opium and keeps painting thats different then someone getting high and then deciding to do whatever pops in their head, such as twiddle knobs, make sets or walk down the isles at a grocery store at 3am.
Weed will always be different than alcohol and each one of the drugs you listed has its own suite of madness associated with it.
Ideas don't amount to shit if you don't actually apply them.

Re: Drugs and Creativity
Good for inspiration perhaps, but not necessarily for producing.

^ well put. I tend to be way too verbose. I believe thats a lot more like what I was trying to say.

Re: Drugs and Creativity
what ive read what you need to do is take half a hit or just a hit of some body acid, it just makes it to where your head is cleared up. I dont know about pot tho that shit just makes me lazy. But Ive done 3 hits of lsd-25 which is the more head high and have spent hours on hours in live in the studio with my friend and its one of the moat fun things. But if you wana get really creative with your music, open your mind then its the half a hit of a body acid. I dont know where it is in here do a search but its on these forums somewhere

Re: Drugs and Creativity
I dont need drugs to make music. But once in a while its great to just get messed up. May give you ideas. May not. Honestly my biggest breakthroughs happen after I see an amazing show.
Because Whatever.
