Better Reverb
Better Reverb
Again, If I want true sounding reverb, I always have to export my track into Logic. Lives reverb to me just sounds like a bit of distortion or white noise added at the end of a sample. And how about adding reverse reverb options? I could be wrong, but I don't think Reverb has seen a significant update in quite a while and I've been using Live since version 4. I would say in my opinion that Lives reverb is 3 years behind all other DAWs reverbs. Anyone agree?

+1 for a better reverb
A lot of lives devices are really quite simple, but you can do all sorts of awesome things with signal flow and racks, and because of the things you Can do in live if i ever feel like a device is lacking i try to think harder to get it to bloom the way i want... Although i rarely find myself reaching for lives reverb nowadays. Frankly because it just never gives the results i want.. Maybe i just haven't mastered it yet..

nah, thats what vsts are for. I´d rather have them work on things 3rd party applications can´t fix.

I´ve tried aether, but redline reverb is the best I´ve come across.

Re: Better Reverb
I like the sound of the Ableton Reverb and its functions. It has its own character (actually three: quality low, medium and high . Ok, it's not my first choice for realistic reverb effects, for this I'd rather prever my external Lexicon, but it sounds very nice e.g. for gated reverbs on snares and I very appreciate the freeze button.
Re: Better Reverb
+1 on this one.
I think live's reverb sounds just fine but its a bit aged and definitely not at the same quality line as the rest of the suite. Nowadays there are out there a lot of reverb plugs far nicer than Live's built in reverb.
Maybe a new 'Reverb II', or a 'Proverb' audio device would be very welcome IMHO. Or, at least, a new "UltraQuality" algorithm mode in global settings would be very handy for mixinig / mastering without leaving Live's dominions.

Sounds really dated for up to date productions. It has its place though and is great if you want that added colour.
Redline is good, and the new lexicon ones sounded good on demo.

Re: Better Reverb
I have to say... I really love the Ableton reverb. "Warm Long" and "Long Ambience" are my two go to verb settings and sound great on clicky percussive tracks. If they decide to ever make another reverb I hope its just that... one in addition to this one. I personally wouldn't want them to change their current verb. In fact, I'd have to say the Ableton reverb is the only algorithmic verb that I really like. But to each his own...
Re: Better Reverb
Although you can get VST's, I'd rather not pay some ridiculous amount for something I think should be coming standard in a DAW.
I would REALLY like to have them at the very least add a reverse reverb option.
