LIVE 8 slow and tried everything!.

Hi there tried every update. all the beta versions! been here for a full day.
Performance slow! tracks take for ever to load up, cant get anything to function at any sort of speed.

Fireface400 latest driver
NEw PC.
got the latest beta version.

run out of ideas and im really stuck! jsut purchased LIVE 8 today and cant get nothing to work!..

What else is running? If you got an off the shelf PC it might be loaded with crapware that is taxing your CPU/RAM.

First thing I would do is look at the diagnostics and see if RAM/CPU is getting hit by something else (disk defragger? windows indexing service? windows defender? anti virus?). Also go to Microsoft Tech Net and download Process Monitor and see what is happening. Process Monitor has saved me more times than I can count. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi ... 96645.aspx

We have to find out what is weighing down your PC and eliminate it.

I had ableton 7 running like a dream for a long tim ( 2 years or so) its only since installing 8 that the problems started!.

I have downloaded the process monitor, what exactly am I looking for?

I left ableton overnight to load all the tracks up and its crashed !

...seems to be a constantly recurring theme on this forum. I've also been running Live7 for a couple of years now with no major issues ....

I can't really afford to waste my time or risk the possibility of screwing with my clients' projects by loading up Live8 even though I've already paid for it. After a year or so of watching this forum for evidence that Live8 is operating in stable manner, I'm still not convinced it's worth the switch (and potential problems).

I'd like to see a 'poll' of Live8 users somehow rating it's stability on their particular system ... would be interesting to hear from those NOT experiencing problems .... you don't seem to see many of them around here these days...

there response has been non existant to! really not happy with a inferior product right now! I lost 5 days of studio time now which is worth my months rent!!
