Step seq. for Lauchpad other than Max for Live
Is there a other step seq on the market that I can use with the Novation Launchpad ore is M4L the only one?
I would like to buy M4L in the future but I want to try than first the demo ore a other step seq.
Regards, Paul

I'm interested in this too as I have a Launchpad but no M4L.

AFAIK they're all m4L driven, even Step Sequencer Novation put out.

I think Little Scale's sequencers are for Max runtime instead of Max for Live.

Also, nonome works with Max runtime: http://post.monome.org/comments.php?Dis ... 245&page=1 which allows you to use SevenUp which has a step sequencer.

I'm currently working on doing a step sequencer/X0X style pattern editor using Reaktor.
Not yet sure whether I'll get this completed.

Numerology (five12.com) is coming out with native LaunchPad support for sequencing. This is a program made solely for step sequencing, as opposed to a program that can be programmed to build a step sequencer.

Re: Step seq. for Lauchpad other than Max for Live
hey guys ive just got around to making a step sequencer for the Launchpad, right now its 4x 16 step fixed pitch but i'll work on it some more in the next day or 2 and see about making it an 8x16 and maybee making another with pitch controls.
as with my APC stuff i made, just works strait up with ableton, no bomes max or anything else.,

One distinction is the difference between sequencers that can change patterns, and those that can not.
I, and many others created step sequencers by combining midi clips and Live's midi devices to create step sequencers.
They were cool, but very static. You could not easily switch from one sequence to another or save a sequence for later.
The M4L APC/LP seq is the best concept because it actually writes/reads notes to/from midi clips, which can be copied or manipulated as needed. The down side is that it is very limited (just note on), and you would have to be versed at M4L to modify it. It also have a few odd/buggy behaviors, so it may not be the best.
I have been having fun using Numerology, because it is like a modular sequencer. You can sequence gate time or velocity separate from pitch, etc... Lots of musical and fun possibilities.

Just looked up Numerology.. too bad it's mac only. The lunchpad integration would make it wow.. great.
