Super Quick Bootcamp question

Post by starving student » Thu Feb 25, 2010 12:36 am

say you want to reformat the xp side, is it necessary to reinstall leopard to do this or can you just erase the windows side and re-install it., also do you have to do it from the mac side, asking because mine boots into windows by default

You'll need Leopard (10.5 or 6) though - the option to use boot camp in 10.4 was time-limited and it won't let you do it anymore as I discovered when I tried to reinstall it.

mac side. restart with 'alt' held down and select OSX as the startup disk.

not sure if this is the quickest, but its probably the cleanest:
launch the Bootcamp Setup Assistant (in Utilities folder) > create/remove windows partition > remove
then create a new partition and reinstall windows and install apple's drivers from the leopard dvd.

Macs don't do everything.

You still need Windows to take advantage of the latest viruses and malware. Nothing is more frustrating than clicking on a random exe file and nothing happens.
