midi/key mapping, this may be impossible but....
Re: midi/key mapping, this may be impossible but....
If doing it in Live is too complicated for you, then you could try Logic Mainstage or Audiofile Engineering's Rax.

For instance, let's say you have a filter that you use on most songs.jord peck wrote: What possibilities are there in using different midi channels?
You can use the same controller knobs to control the filter, on all the songs.
You only have to change the midi channel between songs, channel 1 for song 1, etc

I wouldn't say live is "to complicated" although I'm a pretty nubish. It's lookin like it's just not capable of what I'm wanting it to do! I checked out the programs you mentioned and they look promising. I'll download the demos and see if they work for me. Are there some specific capabilities you have in mind with these two programs that you think would help me achieve what I'm goin for? Thanks!delicioso wrote:If doing it in Live is too complicated for you, then you could try Logic Mainstage or Audiofile Engineering's Rax.

Live is capable of what you're describing in your first post as indicated by my first post. It's just a matter of learning how Live works, especially racks and chains. The solutions can be found if you search this forum.jord peck wrote:I wouldn't say live is "to complicated" although I'm a pretty nubish. As for the other tools, they're designed with exactly what you have in mind so it would be faster to get going, just not a native Live solution.
Re: midi/key mapping, this may be impossible but....
I use racks with a chain selector like this, and build in the on-off button too.
I can change the chain on individual tracks with my APC. If I want to change every one of them I have scenes on my korg padKontrol that will do this. EG pressing pad 1 will change set all racks to chain 1 etc.
Problem is, even though I use mostly native plugs, it appears to still eat a lot of CPU with all these dormant effects sitting there. I think it's the reverbs
. Have to rethink that a little bit.
