has anyone tried the new 12 inch powerbooks? just wondering how they are...

its gravy here.
a couple users have been reporting issues when having an .als with more than a hundred LONG audio files (4 minutes or longer).
but there are workarounds.
and its not yet known if thats an ableton issue, or an apple issue.

otherwise, they're great.
i love mine.

i got the new 15" despite warnings of trackpad issues (ie shocks, not working etc) and have experienced some of these, but the workaround is easy (just turn caps on and off before using the trackpad) and my joy of havinga new faster machine outweighs it greatly..

i consolidated a couple macs into a new 15"
zero problems.. very happy with it

heh.. yep. still have the AMD but it morphed into a desktop after xmas
and one other G4 tower, which may or may not stick around
but lately all i use is the PB

and wouldn't ya know it -- *just* after i first posted on this thread i started having a trackpad problem.. WTF?! then i remembered some mention of it here. yep, that cap locks thing works.

yeah just make sure if you havent had any activity on the puter to caps lock before going, other wise force relaunch the finder and it should be back up to speed.

i wonder if that trackpad issue is something Apple can fix with either a firmware or driver update in the future?
