Somebody who ends sentences with 'lol', should probably never try to up his man points by doing the whole 'you go girls' thing, just saying.

The point of this post is I've watched a lot of war documentaries but usually they just show the facts of the war and not much of what happened after, especially from the losing side. It gives off the impression everybody just put down their weapons, went "well that was silly", and then got on with their day.

Since I haven't lived in a time or place that was completely morally and physically devastated I don't know what the aftermath is like long term. 9/11 was traumatic for a lot of us that don't even live anywhere near where it physically happened so I can't imagine what that must be like on a mass scale or how it would be dealt with for generations to come.

But hey, if nobody has any interest in this then there's plenty of other more pointless threads on here to find meaning in.

Just to clarify: Australia =/= New Zealand.

Totally different countries. Totally different histories. Yes Euro colonisation happened in both countries, but under completely different circumstances. You will find the vast, vast, majority of Maori and Pakeha (Euro NZers) celebrating our national day together, commemorating when a treaty was signed between the two parties in 1840. I think you will find that NZ is much further along the path of figuring out how to be a post-colonial society than Australia.

For any typical americans who might be reading, this =/= symbol means "does not equal"

lol. Christ. I did completely forget you were a Kiwi.

Now that I've been corrected, and your morally superior position has been firmly established, please carry on. :P
