An (Un) Official Ableton Live Camp

Post by heavensdaw » Mon Mar 29, 2010 4:01 pm

Hi guys,

As some of you know, I live about 2hrs south of Barcelona, on a beautiful piece of land, part pine forest part almond groves.

Anyhow.. Over a year ago I had the idea of putting together an event. An Ableton Live Camp. A weekend of workshops, open discussion, Live performance and general goodness!

I wanted Ableton to sponsor the event.. And they are very enthusiastic about it. But they cannot 'commit' to it at this point in time. However they have offered their support and will help promote it.

I've kept it quite.. until now in respect of the Abe's inclusion..

So guys what d'you reckon.. would something like this be of interest to you?

A (long) weekend, camped out in the nature, and immersing yourselves in Live and Live performance!!

Cheers

Count me in. Just need some advance notice and a bit of time to arrange for the funds for the trip.

Also, I can't do it until after the end of July of this year. Ideally, September would be better for me.

i am disappointed.

well, HD you know!

it sounds good to do it on our own... late summer if, definitely!

i am going slowly but surely into self-employment again... that is a bit of a difficult time for me... but the interest is positive.

Hey Hd,

I live in Barcelona and I would be very happy to come, or even to help organizing stuff. I am a native german speaker, so this could maybe help. With Institut FATIMA we did quite a number of workshops for Live-beginners and have a mailing list of our students, most probably some of them would like to attend, I believe. I would love to do a workshop on Live, osculator and wiimote for example. Or some other trickery with reactivision.
I know that our forum fellow Phat Conductor will be in spain in september, if the schedule allows, maybe he can do one of his workshops.
Let me know what you think.

Ok! :D

Listen, we could provisionally say September 10, 11, 12. That would give enough time to organize everything..

Please guys, reply to this thread if you think you'd like to come to it.. I need to gauge the response..

Also if you'd like to offer any ideas or want to help in anyway feel free to contact me via PM.

It wouldn't have to be camping only.. there are quite a few alternatives locally.. from Rural hotels/farmhouses to village houses and regular hotel/pensions.. but the camping will be the dogs!

I'll post up some shots of the land and some info as to where exactly later!

I'd need links to some cheap accommodations. The plane fare is gonna kill me.

Sitges is especially popular as a gay tourist destination - especially in July and August when gay men and lesbians visit Sitges as "one of the most popular gay holiday spots in Europe".[1]

I don't camp. No camping gear, and generally speaking, I need a toilet and running water. Sorry, I'm a middle-aged city slicker with an irritable bowel.
