mac wave editor
Hey all.
Recently moved from pc to mac. So, along with many vst goodbyes, I'm parting ways with my trusty old copy of cool edit. Still haven't tried audacity, but want to hear some feedback about it.
You know, the usual duties: Fades, format conversions, zoom in to check for problems…and I also use it for recording and ripping vinyl, and tracking individual songs.
I'm thinking that it would be super easy to just use Ableton for ripping music from vinyl, if only we could export as mp3…
Anyway,
If anyone has some nice 'McGyver' for accomplishing this, i'd love to hear about it.
Peace and ease.

Re: mac wave editor
+1 for Wave Editor, great program, I use it daily.
Re: mac wave editor
wave editor for me is by far the best, coming from sound forge on the pc i couldn't find something that compared until i tried wave editor. you need to delve into the keyboard shortcuts and set it up to how you want it to work though, it's very powerful under the hood.

Re: mac wave editor
wait until Wavelab 7 comes to Mac later in the year.
DSP Quattro is a good editor I've used on mac, Wave Editor is good value for it's money.
If you have Logic Pro, Soundtrack Pro is not a bad editor.

Re: mac wave editor
I like wave editor except there's no pencil tool. You can't zoom in and edit a wave. Odd really considering the name of the application...Tarekith wrote:+1 for Wave Editor, great program, I use it daily.

Re: mac wave editor
I use Bias Peak. It's pretty shit tbh but at least you can add loop points which Soundtrack Pro or Audacity are not capable of.

Re: mac wave editor
I agree on waiting for Wavelab. I moved from the PC to Mac this year and have tried loads of wave editors and cannot say I like any of them. I'd love to see Sound Forge on the Mac... but Wavelab is a close second for me.

Re: mac wave editor
I've always used Amadeus Pro. Cheap and good little wave editor. But since I've had Audio Finder I've just been using that since it integrates so nicely with the OSX finder, it has a decent little wave editor as well.
Professional Shark Jumper.
Re: mac wave editor
i've been using Bias Peak since its early versions. I'm running version 6 now.
great app in my opinion, perfect to do all kind of editing i need and
great to do mastering job too.
cheaper option could be DSP-Quattro.
