Good iPhone field recorder that records in .wav?
Any recommendations?
I can justify spending $10 on an app that I can record uncompressed sounds but spending hundreds on a dedicated recorder is over my budget for one reason: it's not with me when I need it most.

there is a nice little blue mics thing that they do.
Its not $10 but you get a mic with it.
I don't know what the mic is like on the iphone but I can't imagine it's going to b that great. . . This should be a step up. . .

I slipped into a daze, whilst I was there I heard the most startling music, it was at once familiar and alien, reassuring and unsettling.

Where's the free version? It's not showing up on their page or the app store...dj_blueprint wrote:just downloaded the free version which does everything we need it to do.Tarekith wrote:dru wrote:http://www.audiofile-engineering.com/

Really like the Fire app. Thinking of getting the Blue Mikey for it.

FiRE seems to be the go to choice for most people wanting single track recording, but I've had a good experience with FourTrack from Sonoma Wireworks.
It's multi-track ready and you can bounce down mixes/multiple takes, has some handy song management features and records 16bit 44.1kHz .wav's. Worth the money for sure.

I'm waiting for the new one to come out. Hopefully soon. "Coming Spring" is too vague for my impatient ass but soon enough I guess.

Checkout Hindenberg - there is a free version (1 minute recording limit)
Tis better than FIRE according to my bro who has both.

Yeah, definitely wait for the pro version of Mikey, it'll be a lot better.
