Hello,
I asked this question over on the Cycling74 site but wanted to ask it here also.
I'm working with video in Ableton. I'm setting locators in specific places where something important occurs in the video. I'm also naming the locators related to the occurrence in the video (i.e: explosion, gun fight, leaps off building). Is there a way in Max to retrieve each locators name as the playhead passes over the locator and pass that information to the "print" function so that it appears in the Max Window?
Thanks for your help,?

Can M4L print a locators name as the playhead passes over?
Re: Can M4L print a locators name as the playhead passes over?
probably maybe, I'll try it tonight. in the LOM there's
"cue_points CuePoint get, observe Cue points are the markers in the arranger to which you can jump. "

but I don't know what the object outputs.

Thx Tone Deft. Let me know what you find. So far I've only been able to get the Marker/Locator/Cue Point name via a button push or a number selector. I have a feeling the "observe" function will work to do what I need it to do, but i'm only just learning Max. Here is a screenshot of what I have so far:

very cool, sounds like you've got it!! yes, you want a Live.observe. you only have to send it the path id once, after that it will continually update the output without having to ping it.
I too am just learning the Live API. I've known some max for years but this is new to me. I'll definitely follow up on this, it's a nice simple way to practice.
screenshots are nice but also check out 'copy compressed' in the edit menu (I think it's the edit menu.) select your entire patch (or a part of it you want to share) then copy compressed. this puts a chunk of text in your clipboard. copy that to the forum, I can then copy that text, 'make a new object from the clipboard' and boom, I have the patch in all its glory.

Tone Deft,
Thanks for your help and encouragement. As well as the tip on "Copy Compress". I was wondering how people were doing that, haha. I have a thread over on the Cycling74 forums which is turning into something really cool. Just incase you wanna check it out here's the link:

Once I have the pather working i'll post the code here for any and all.
