Free Tutorial Video - Creating a Shepards (Endless) Tone

Post by COSM » Tue Feb 17, 2009 7:53 am

Here is a quick rundown of one way to create a Shepard's Tone style effect using Ableton Live and Operator.

This isn't the perfect way to create a Shepard's Tone, but it gives a good rundown of the type of process involved in creating such an effect using a sequencer!

Shoot! I wished I hadn't watched that  It was very informative. I loved the shepherds tone plugin I used to have. Now that I know the trick I can see through the illusion of it.

heyoka's "gate code" album has a ton - here's one that has them throughout the whole song. perhaps he overused them a bit though- what do y'all think?
