Re: Reverb Quality
Isn't live's reverb simply supposed to mimic the functions of a common hardware reverb? I've never really used a hardware reverb, so I'm not sure what they sound like next to each other. But I agree that it sounds kind of odd.
Is it really that bad for something that's not based on physical modeling?

Re: Reverb Quality
My girlfriend just bought me 112db's reverb for my birthday. I have barely been able to use it but so far I quite like the sound. Only $150.

Re: Reverb Quality
Oh and as far as Live's reverb, I like it but only for making swell builds for breakdowns and such - big room house style.
Re: Reverb Quality
I think Live's Reverb it's more an effect for manipulating Sounds than to cre8 deepness. I really like it for percussive sounds with a small size and a short decay. I Also love the freeze function, what makes this plugin very special for me. But what i'm really missing is a reversed reverb for live use.

Epicverb is pretty nice!
If you need the best sounding reverb you probably have to get Altiverb.

Re: Reverb Quality
I'm looking for a reverb to put on a return tracks.. kind of a general use reverb for live use, to sort of blow things out, if that makes any sense.. any tips? it always sounds super tinny, like reverb inside of an empty spaghetti O's can

Re: Reverb Quality
Make sure you're adjusting the filters of Live's Reverb as well. Letting the low end of the sound be affected by the Reverb can cause some unpleasant results (sometimes).
Really, the best thing is to experiment with settings and save presets that work for you! It's all about the application.
When messing around with some of the settings, it's also a good idea to have the wet knob cranked to 100% so you can hear the effect to it's fullest, then when you're happy, mix it accordingly. Have fun!

Re: Reverb Quality
Why not simply use Logic's Space Designer inside Live. Easi(ish)ly achieved using midi routing through Mac OSX internal IAC midi driver. Upside of this is that you can use ANY effect or instrument from Logic inside Live. Thafe!
Re: Reverb Quality
first of all go to special in the reverb presets, then pick up a reverb preset called florest floor to an auxiliar track.. put the dry/wet at 100%, then make a low cut at 1000hz, then get the Q of the low cut to minimum in order to make a straight cut at 1000hz, then go to predelay and get it to 4 sec., then activate the modulation (chorus), and place the device simple delay with eight note preset before the reverb with the drywet once again in maximum.. hope it helps
Re: Reverb Quality
I have EOS and Redline reverb and have to say that although EOS has a nice plate sound Redline is by far the best software Reverb (non IR) I have heard
http://112db.com/redline/reverb/
theres a 2 month free trial as well with no limitations, highly recommended

Re: Reverb Quality
hello,
this is a great reverb imo. don't be irritated about the price. it sounds a lot more expensive.
give it a try.
