Just add 3% to the cost of the tickets.

with 3% it probably does not make that much a difference per ticket,
but you would rather want to make sure that the ticket price you get is 97%
instead of the price you charge via paypal being 103%.

other than that, i thik it should work,
but I know more about percentages than about paypal  :D

But errr.... if you add 3% to something then that becomes your new 100% cost...of which you get 97% no?

3% more is better than 3% less. :D

But yes,. it would work, perfect in fact, you receive money, you send ticket. nice and easy.

I suppose the only drawback is that you alienate non-paypal using punters.

exactly!

So if your tickets sell via paypal for $100 you get $97

If you sell them via paypal for $103 you get $99,91

If you want to get $100 (97%) you would have to sell them via paypal for $103,09278350515463917525773195876. (100%)

Like I said, it is not that big a deal for the price of a ticket,
unless you are charging mega bucks and plan to sell out a stadium,
but ...
ehm, it is still handy to know, for...
ehm, when you...
negotiate...
ehm, you know! 8)

we threw a party last fall and only sold presales for it at a reduced price. then we got everyones email addy and when they showed up at the door we used that as verification. worked great for us but we only had 48 presales
