disable space bar?

disable space bar?

is there anyway to stop the space bar acting as a transport control.
no the mac BTW

a screw driver would be best, but a knife should work fine.

yeah, not quite gonna do that to my macbook keyboard yet.

what i really meant was can i edit the standard keyboard shortcuts to remove the spacebar's function?

honestly I don't think you can.
maybe with a script. you might have to dig pretty deep to find one though. space = play is pretty standard.

think hitting EXT is the answer, just click it again when i need to do a tempo change.

i wouldn't worry about it, crowds often use the sudden silence as a chance to start screaming
i hit the space bar a few times during the course of my live sets

hmmmmm could just sound like a twat if i do it at a crucial moment though.

try it though, if people are enjoying your set they always cheer at the silent moments
i put silent bits in my tracks now cos of accidentally doing summat in my live set that ended up wi short silence
false finish vibe... it's a winner

If you fold a small piece of paper lengthwise and slip it underneath the spacebar, it will prevent you from being able to press it.

Can't take credit for this idea, saw it in another post.
