thanks.
and about the templates i also like that you only need to load them once (only the selection or the ones you created and really use and then once you did that you simply switch between them in split seconds... a much faster process compared to the padKONTROL or nanoKONTROL templates where you only can load one single instance (and need to have the editor open for that) and then only can switch between banks... in maschine you switch between full templates in an instance and can control this and that and this and that with a simple push of a button and still having for all templates plenty of sublayers if you need some crazy amount of control for a specific thing...

again, it is my main ableton controller right now and if i am in ableton i can switch maschine to whatever else back and forth and back and forth and back to control basic ableton stuff and that with a quick flick of a button... like clip launch, transport, navigation, record, mute, etc...

oh you basterds, what a horrible thread!

there is a G.A.S.-Attack just around the corner.....NOW!

So if you control Live from the Maschine,
how many banks of the encoders do you get?
or does that concept not apply?

would you rather get Maschine than an APC?
I'm going home

8 pad pages and virtual (i think) unlimited knob / pad pages The buttons and knobs that are around the two screens (8 of each)
those are with labels, so you don't have to remember them and the pad pages are accessible via the 8 blue buttons (if not used as midi buttons, you can choose that) instantly!

so you see at a glance as well where you are.

As a means of controlling Ableton? Certainly not.

I use Maschine for controlling the Maschine software and that's it. I much prefer the APC40 as a mixer in Live and for triggering clips.

i did!

but for pure clip triggering if 16 within 8 sublayers does not suit you... a launchpad, not an apc40

APC? Nah. Maschine + iPad (running LiveOSC) for me. Maschine makes for a superb Live controller. I use fragmented's LiveMaschine template which is an instant mapping midi remote script. But for matrix clip/scene launching, I would use LiveOSC since it has the red ring around the clips just like Launchpad and gives you instant visual feedback with clip names as well as device/parameter names.

you are saying this is the case when using Maschine as controller for non-Maschine software ??
8O Tracknames/effect-properties displayed in the, well display, like the novation stuff would?

OMFG! Im developing a fever!

The supplied Mackie Control template does this but LiveControl does this better.
