8.1.3 (that old Suite/non Suite question)
8.1.3 (that old Suite/non Suite question)
So... I've got Suite 8.1.1. installed. Do I need to do a full download/install now?
Or, to make the question even simpler: will I still have the grey splash (what I want) if I only install Live 8.1.3.?

Re: 8.1.3 (that old Suite/non Suite question)
Yes, if you already have an older version of Suite installed, downloading the normal Live 8 update is totally sufficient. The Suite download is only required for new users who never had the Suite installed before.
The splash screen should work fine, too.
Best,
Nico

I'd always thought that it was important, considering pack updates for instruments or else.
Thanks for the info nico

Nah, same as always: I get the coloured splash screen. All the features are there, but I dunno... It just bugs me.
Anyway: will I be able to open a set modified in 8.1.3 if I for whatever reason should decide to go back to 8.1.1?

Re: 8.1.3 (that old Suite/non Suite question)
^actually, I don't think this is exactly true. I think in 8.1.3, they were trying to work on the backward compatibility thing, at least going back to 8.1. Meaning anthing 8.1 and forward should open in 8.1.x

Yeah, I didn't want to take the chance so I D/L'd the entire Suite.sporkles wrote:...I dunno... It just bugs me.![]()

Because what you're describing already exists.

I didn't pay extra for all the bells and whistles, like Operator, Tension, Electric, or any of that stuff, you know; I just
wanted the grey splash.

Re: 8.1.3 (that old Suite/non Suite question)
No grey 'Suite' splash here after updating Suite 8.1.1 with the smaller Live download.
Guess you'll have to fix it in 8.1.4

Re: 8.1.3 (that old Suite/non Suite question)
It's always the same. They say the splash screen will stay grey if you download the smaller one as a suite owner, but it always changes it to the colored one. Not really an issue worth making a fuss about, however I must say I prefer the grey one. For some reason it reminds me that I have lots of ableton instruments to use, not just plug-ins.

it's really just a design aesthetic for me.
