Finally!
Finally!
I've got my album up online and ready to download! It's free, but of course any donations are welcome.

I've been working on the album art for the hard copy that I'll turn into the local radio station. That shit is tiring! Especially getting it all printed in the right size/format. As of today, it's finally finished, so hopefully I can get some air play as well!
Anyway, I hope you take the time to listen, and I hope you enjoy!
Cheers

Re: Finally!
great stuff. That is a real piano, or is it a sampled one?
Re: Finally!
Thanks! Most of the songs use Ableton's sampled piano. Some of them- like Seeing in Colors- I worked up the effort to mic the piano in my living room. So both!
Re: Finally!
Come on, give it a listen! Tell me what you think!
Re: Finally!
Hi Stigg. I don't generally listen to albums because there are just too many tracks I listen to here and on other forums. I know you spent a lot of time with your productions but I can't go song by song to list the deficiencies. Although the track are nice and enjoyable to listen to, I don't sense that the album's mix is radio ready IMO. Before you submit it, you should get second and third party mix engineers to give you further opinions. My first thought on most is that you have used way too much reverb. Thanks for the share and I wish you all the best with your album. Respectfully.
Re: Finally!
Hi Stigglits. Haven't had time to listen to it all yet, but thought I'd give my initial reaction after hearing the first 6 tracks. Nancy Drew - what a great tune! It's a great instrumental and I can't decide whether or not it would be better with lyrics. Seeing in Colors - just beautiful.
On the negative side, 17 tracks is a lot of tracks - maybe you could have been more ruthless and got it down to your best 12, or made it into 2 albums - splitting out the indie and dancey ones might make a more coherent listen...?
As mentioned, these are just first impressions. Overall I'm impressed, (love the cover art too).

Re: Finally!
Ooh I didn't even think of separating it into two albums! I like that idea! But yeah, seeing as it's my first album that would be getting my music and my name out there, I wanted to give people as much to listen to as possible. That may or may not have been a bad idea...
I actually wrote some lyrics for Nancy Drew- it's about a girl with said name. I just didn't get around to recording them- but I personally think that song needs vocals.
tlennon- thanks for the insight. I agree, my mixing and EQ'ing is only amateur. But I'm learning! And what can I say about the reverb- I'm a reverb junky! I gotta have it! Almost everything sounds better with reverb, in my opinion...so I think it stays! Thanks for listening and responding though!
