APC40 KILLER
Now with the Live 8.1.3 and Novation's Remote SL MK II firmware updates. The Remote SL MII is fully integrated with Live's controls and devices. Has this marked the end for Akai's APC40?
With Both being USB bus powered and Launch Pad's Note Mode. Will a Remote SL MK II and Launch Pad be worth dumping or not even purchasing the APC40?

Depends what you use them for. I had a launchpad and got rid of it to get an APC, suits my studio work.

I would say so. But for me, LiveControl has replaced all of the above.avatarspace wrote:With Both being USB bus powered and Launch Pad's Note Mode. Will a Remote SL MK II and Launch Pad be worth dumping or not even purchasing the APC40?

LiveControl looks the right way forward, but it really requires the purchase of at least a $499 Ipad.humnumb wrote:I would say so. I'm a long time Novation SL user but none of that stuff, launchpad included, will replace the APC40 for me. Nice big sliders, actual knobs for selected device controls, 3 sends, all to one usb port from one device. APC40 is perfect for me. I think it'll a long time before any combination of hardware beats the APC40+Maschine+Kore for me. (+Novation SL Keyboard).

Re: APC40 KILLER
Can the Novation's page left and right buttons select a track's different effects similar to the APC40's left and right arrow buttons in the device control area?
Looking to buy the ZeRO SL MKII unit to pair with my LaunchPad, but not finding this answer anywhere.

I think that it really depends on the preferences of the person using the equipment. Either way, having more choices available is a win for everyone. Maybe not the manufacturers, but certainly the consumers.

Re: APC40 KILLER
ironic that a few posts below there is a user ranting about how horrible this product is and how they can't even figure out how to use it in the way that the demo video over at novation .
I have no personal experience just thought it was funny
So far the apc 40 has done so much of what I need it to....I need the knobs no just clip luanching
If all you need is to launch clips the LP is the way to go

Re: APC40 KILLER
There's something about the APC that makes people want to see it fail- strange considering its a midprice controller with plenty of knobs, sliders and buttons - I guess that's hype for you.

Love the APC 40 more every week. Im building my templates around it now. It works almost like NIs Maschine (which I dont have), with the addition of 8 nice DJ style fade's, and group track folder buttons. I come from a DJ background, and found that 20 years of fade riding experience comes in handy for production. love the faders!
