93% Off Crysonic Deal - Are They Any Good?

Post by craftycurate » Wed May 19, 2010 10:09 am

http://www.crysonic.com/bundles.html

Has anyone used these much? Are they any good?

Most of the demos come without presets, so not easy to gauge their effectiveness.

Not to give you a short answer, but 'crysonic' is a topic that seems to pop up frequently over at the KVR audio forums. Might be worth your time having a search over there.

It's more the poor stability and poor customer service that bothers me, going by the posts on the KVR forum. And the fact that they are written in SynthEdit, with all its multi-core stability issues.

for $60, it seems like a great deal. how bad could they be and they've released a formal apology (a la Ableton) for the bad customer service support issues.
i won't be making a purchase because i've already got other plugins that do exactly what these do, but it seems like the company is trying to turn around and better itself. it may be worth checking out the demos of these.

I bought it a week ago, and it has been nothing but smooth sailing for me. Definitely try out the demos though to make sure they work; they work great on my laptop though it may not be the same for everyone.

Yes, KVR does like to crap all over Crysonic, but it's always about the customer service and stability, which is important, but they also never actually talk about the plugins themselves; instead it's all drowned out by the other stuff and they don't discuss how the plugins work and sound. I think they sound great to me, and that's the most important thing to me. To be honest, if you could get Sindo working, that alone would make the deal worth it since it has helped out so many of my tracks along with Spectralive; all the other plugins are just icing on the cake. And like people said, they posted an apology on KVR, which is good, but we'll have to see if they follow through on it...

I got a mac bundle a couple of months ago with sindo,nXtasy and spectraphy.

All excellent imo,especially nxtasy.

I would definitely recommend - with 93% off you couldn`t go wrong.

demo before buying is the answer to any concerns.

I have Spectralive NXT and New BV2 both of which are very good plugins.

I thought that SynthEdit was Windows only. There are Mac versions of these...

They also use individual C++ code as well as Synthedit/Synthmaker or whatever. It's not totally Synthedit/Synthmaker.

The quality is really good regardless, as are Bootsy's Variety Of Sound plugins such as Density mkII.
