Re: Recording in mono?
in the input section of your channels choose 1, 2, or that channel of your soundcard you want to record with: they all record in mono. if you choose 1-2 instead you will record in stereo. if there is no choice available, go to the audio settings and select the soundcard you want to use and switch the available channels to on. hope that´s what you meant! good luck! alex

Re: Recording in mono?
In fact ableton doesn't record in mono. It only deals with stereo tracks.
And this sucks.

Internally yes but you can bounce to mono track.chapelier fou wrote:In fact ableton doesn't record in mono. It only deals with stereo tracks.

How can I bounce to a mono track? I choose 1 on the channel and I still see a stereo track. Unless I go to preferences and reconfigure my interface? I'm trying to bounce a stereo Trillian midi bass track to one mono channel.
Thanks,
Ron

Re: Recording in mono?
I thought I recalled a mono mode in the export dialog box. May have been another DAW. Sorry.

not to be nit-picky... but you can record in mono, by using a mono input channel. result: a mono audio file. but Live's tracks are always stereo.chapelier fou wrote:In fact ableton doesn't record in mono. It only deals with stereo tracks.
