LP, nanokontrol and Wiimote here. It's the best. Wouldn't want an APC, because I can transport everything in a bagpack right now. Together with lappy and soundcard.

Re: APC20 vs Launchpad
Not a massive saving, but those in the UK can get the APC40 a bit cheaper if you buy it from Thomman.

Make sure you ask for a UK PSU though, otherwise they might send you an EU one

Noticed this earlier, and have had nothing but good experiences with Thomann in the past so I think this one has got to be done...cheersScarKord wrote:Not a massive saving, but those in the UK can get the APC40 a bit cheaper if you buy it from Thomman.

Backpack v APCBAG... hmmm... I know I'd be buying the best possible unit over what fits into a backpack.pepezabala wrote:LP, nanokontrol and Wiimote here. It's the best. Wouldn't want an APC, because I can transport everything in a bagpack right now. Together with lappy and soundcard.

Re: APC20 vs Launchpad
I have to transport my rig at least twice a week, from home to the rehearsal-room and from home to the club. mostly using a bycicle (or taxis). So transportability is an issue for me.
Re: APC20 vs Launchpad
To be honest, the fact that the APC is just one single unit is a factor for me. I don't wanna be transporting and setting up 2 or 3 different pieces of kit every night.

but you´ll have to power the unit separetly, and the thing is a lot heavier than launchpadtimwright wrote:To be honest, the fact that the APC is just one single unit is a factor for me. I don't wanna be transporting and setting up 2 or 3 different pieces of kit every night.

Fair enough - must be tough on a bike.pepezabala wrote:I have to transport my rig at least twice a week, from home to the rehearsal-room and from home to the club. mostly using a bycicle (or taxis). So transportability is an issue for me.
You can fit an APC and a lappie into the APC satchel's, but I guess if you prefer a backpack...

Yeah, the lack of required PSU is one factor the LP has over the APC. But unless you're carrying the APC all night, I don't really see the weight as a problem.Grappadura wrote:but you´ll have to power the unit separetly, and the thing is a lot heavier than launchpadtimwright wrote:To be honest, the fact that the APC is just one single unit is a factor for me. Please excuse my APC crusade, but it's like comparing apples and oranges to me. One is a cheap and basic controller, whilst the other is a robust and heavily featured, purpose built device. It's not like either of them are overly expensive bits of kit either.

Re: APC20 vs Launchpad
PSU isn't really an issue as it still means taking up only 1 USB port with the APC.
