OS X 10.6.4 & Live - all ok?

Post by 8O » Wed Jun 16, 2010 12:58 pm

Hi,

Just saw that 10.6.4 is out - didn't see anything major from the release notes, but did see this...

...anyone already updated? Does it work fine with Live 8?

Cheers.

You still get your unresponsive volume knob problems when you disconnect/reconnect?

I just downloaded the new drivers that RME released that should fix this, haven't had a chance to install them yet.

Looks like good news on the forums. Everyone seems to be saying that the RME updates are fixing their problems.
I recently got a fireface 400, but haven't had a lot of time to use and when I do, always turned it on with the computer and never unplugged it. But nice to know the kernel panics have been addressed.

(sorry for going off topic in the thread).

The volume knob on the front of the FF400 would sometimes stop working. I could still change things in teh software with a mouse, or with keyboard shortcuts. It was this randon thing that happened all the time, was very frustrating when you need to check music at different volumes for a living :) Also, the FF400 was very picky about the order you plugged it in. I basically always had to reboot the laptop every time I plugged in the FF400 or it would freeze the system when an app tried to use it.

Both issues appear to be fixed in the new 2.72 drivers.

Also the issue with linking the left/right faders in the software mixer has been fixed with 2.72.

Yeah, the whole system freezing up and needing to be rebooted has been a serious thorn in my anus. Was very much considering ditching the FF400. This shit has been going on for months. I sure hope it's fixed.
