New encym:trk

Post by FORMAT » Fri Jun 18, 2010 11:45 pm

This one's just a new jam, really, for lack of time for more detailed computer programming. But it took a very long preparation phase on the MD UW, so I guess this counts as programming to, and that's also the only instrument I used. I just had to get this out - I'm sure there's plenty of room for improvement.

Here it is, for your judgement: http://soundcloud.com/encym/abras-fu

Have fun listening, love to hear from you all!

As always, very inspiring and cinematic ^ ^
The flow is very good : groove itself and the whole track's development.
Doesn't sound like a jam at all. I love especially : the background and liquid sounds, in particular around 3"33, nice polytonality, and this old telephone sounding like sound, very much to my taste!
The higher pitched "beep" sound is really driving the groove.
I also like that in spite of a very pronounced idm tasted md pattern it never sounds too cliche and sounds more like encym.
Did you use the mduw to drive Live also ?

Congrats mein Herr, i very muched enjoyed it ^ ^

Hey xuoham and Mr. Lennon, thanks for your very encouraging words!

Everything in this track is the MD UW +Drive, including the pads.
I just used the computer to record it and do some limiting and compression.

Okay.... you got me.... WTF is MD UW. I searched on goolge but it kept coming up with a lot of medical fields. And I don't see any reference or acronyms in your signature either. Forgive me for being ignorant in advanced. I'm AMERICAN.

Had time to check it out? It must seem limited to anyone who uses an up-to-date laptop these days, but it's just the limitations that make it work so well for me. Hands-on!

What I find particularly charming is that you can do Ambient stuff very easily on it as well.
