any ideas or could anyone point me in the right direction to make an M4L effect (or maybe something out there exists already) to turn a mono synth note into a chord?
which objects should I be looking at?
thanks in advance!

Re: Help to make a FX to turn a mono synth note into a chord
So first you should consider how to tell the device which chord should be played. Maybe you route the MIDI keyboard to your mono synth AND to the ableton device: The synth would play the hightest note and the device would do the rest.
Then your device should be able to change the pitch of an incoming signal without effecting the time. And that in realtime. You call that a phase vocoder and it's done within the pfft-object, wich does the fast fourier transform to analyze the incoming signal.
There is a spectral harmonizer in pluggo that you can use for that purpose.
Notice that pfft always has a built in latency wich is related to the quality.
cheers,
ring

I see you are using a macbook and so I asume you are using OSX. Then it´s easy to do that (no need for M4L).Nightrider wrote:

Have a look into your audio unit folder.
There is a folder named "Apple".
Inside of this folder there is an audio unit Plug-In named "AUPitch".
Drag this effect to your audio track and group this effect.
Inside of the generated "Rack" make a copy of the effect chain (which is containing the pitch-shift Plug-In),
Create a new (third) empty chain.
As an example for a minor chord, set the first parameter (pitch) of the pitch Plug-In in one of the chains to 300 cent and the pitch parameter of the pitch effect in the other chain to 700 cent.
Play some notes with the SH101 and have fun
cheers, palmer
Live 8_3_4 + 4b7_32+64 -Suite- Max4Live 5_1_9 _ core2DuoMacBook 2*2,16 Ghz + external FW HD _ OSX 10.6.8 _ 3G RAM _ M.H. MIO 2882 + 5.4d208 Driver _ Faderfox LV1 _ Akai MPK25 _ Logitec wheel mouse _______ PeacE will be the SOLution of LIVE

i'm guessing I could make something like this with a few buffers - will give it a shot
