Why is the startup of Ableton 7 Live so slow ?

Hi there,

I finally bought a Focusrite Saffire FireWire Pro 24 audio Interface. It comes free with Ableton 7 Live in the bundle.

I installed the Ableton 7 Live on my Apple 15.4" macbook Pro (2.53GHz, 500GB HDD) without problem.

But every time when I click to start the program, it takes very long for the interface screen to come out. Is everyone like that ?

Mine stuck at the small rectangle Ableton logo & the bubble beach ball rotates for about a minute or two before the interface screen comes out.

Is that normal ?

I'm not on a Mac, so not sure if it's relevant to compare, but Live 7 only take 10-12 seconds to open for me, on a dual core 1.86Ghz 3 year old Dell laptop. So I would suggest no, that is not normal.

I wish there was a way it could open in 2 seconds... I find even 12-15 seconds unbearable sometimes!

As for the OP's hang issue, unless its something else on your system causing the problem, which a fresh install would solve I guess, or some corrupt preference or other related file, dunno what it could be...

Oh man...please don't complain about having to wait 12-15 seconds being too much, given the issues some people are having with it!
