Current Beta Version: Live 8.1.5b1 (updated July 14, 2010)
Hello,
The current beta version of Live is 8.1.5b1
OS X: http://downloads.ableton.com/software/8 ... _815b1.dmg
Windows: http://downloads.ableton.com/software/8 ... _815b1.zip
Just a reminder that nowadays beta versions are optimized the same as release version, so they should perform exactly the same as release version. Also, beta versions don't expire anymore.
Kind regards,
Amaury
---------------------------------
Bugfixes
- 3rd party plugin windows now get the focus when clicked, always.
- Blocked certain keys when a 3rd party plugin window has the focus, such as the "Delete" and "Backspace" keys, which fixes the bug that would delete a plugin or a track, while pressing Delete/Backspace while editing a 3rd party plugin in its own GUI.
- Fixed a bug that would make a group slot lose its MIDI/Key mapping when moving the corresponding scene (http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=140895)
- Fixed a bug that prevented adding or removing the stop button of a group track slot while the group track is folded (http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=140895)
- Fixed a visual bug where a green overlay could be left orphan in a 3rd party Ableton GUI
- The Min or Max parameters in the mapping Browser, for mapped 3rd party plugin parameter, could lose the focus as soon as they were touched, making it impossible, for example, to edit them via the computer keyboard arrow keys.
- The Ableton GUI of an AU plugin would be empty after loading a native AU preset, for plugins having less than 32 parameters. In such a case, the GUI should be automatically populated.
- Fixed a bug that prevented removing a parameter from the Ableton GUI of a 3rd party plugin, while Configure mode is ON, if it was macro-mapped.
- Dragging a first warped clip in a non-empty arrangement would sometimes set the tempo of the Live set. The correct condition is that this should only happen if the Arrangement contains no clip at all.
- It was not possible to click inside a multi-selection, while in Key or MIDI map mode, as to change the selection and select only one of its constituents. This is now fixed.
- Fixed another key handling problem for some plugins using a Cocoa view.
- Fixed a bug where MIDI notes would hang in case an AU plugin is deactivated, then re-activated, in some cases.
- If the last note with the Loop brace, in a MIDI clip, would overlap the Loop end, selecting the loop brace and choosing "Duplicate" would duplicate the Loop's material offset. Now duplication correctly duplicates the Loop length, at the correct position.
- When an external instrument would route to a multi-timbral MIDI instrument, and that instrument or the containing track would be moved, the routing would be reset to the default output. Now routings are correctly remembered
- Improved audio streaming performances for specific Live sets with lots of audio files.
- Corrected a bug that would make computer keyboard selection behave incorrectly after having selecting a clip via remote control
- Various other stability improvements

yes! PLEASE do something about that update screen. and it seems to be the same
with the release version, at least in 8.1.4.....
what's the point of that screen anyhow, plenty of software does it in the background..

What makes me glad is that they're releasing versions or fixes updates quite often, which makes me think that not only will be a rock solid 8, but we could see a Live 9 beta soon!

3phase,
as you're always bitching about Live, and have the same setup/os/mac as me, care to list your problems?
i'd like to bitch as much as you, but lack the ammo
