Nice. Which Revo light are you rocking? (or at least it looks like one)

Just so we can bond I uploaded a silly video of my room I used to share with people a few years ago.

@Rave: Cool lights, but the music was ghey.
@Beats: Cool lights and music, but I'm sure that shit was stolen from your hip hop neighbors.

That was made before I had hip hop neighbors. And hip hop neighbors at best only buy novelty lights off the discount shelf at Spencer Gifts because they saw it in a pot head movie.ChiDJ wrote:

Nice. I have a Revo 2 or 3 and was seriously considering getting a 4 but then realized I already have an irresponsible amount of lights for how little I play out. Most of my lights are currently shelved in my closet with the exception of a couple LED washes over the bar and my Revo which I occasionally plug in if I'm feeling saucy.Rave wrote:@Beats Revo iv mate
Nothing grinds my gears quite like going to a venue with DJs or live acts and zero lights. It's just not right. And I also find it kind of funny that some venues here get around having to get certain permits by not having lights. They can have DJs and be a bar but the second they install ANY fixed club lighting BAM they're considered a club and have a whole new set of permits, rules, and fees they have to follow.

Thanks man. When I did my research I nearly took on the revo 3. I think the combination of both is great, 4 fir the floor and 3 for walls/ ceiling.
Which lasers pair is that? U got it hooked to dmx? I see you got a master slave going on. It would be idealnif I had my laser point it above the crowd (because it is too bright tompoint at them) and two side lasers to sweep the crowd. I bought the laser when I was drunk, in hind site I really which I bought one that gave out blue light as well
As u most probably noticed I have a led was under neath the desk.
I would mind a black uv light too

What I really like about the Revos is they are just as effective putting them on the floor and shining them on the ceiling or wall so you don't have to throw them on a truss. In fact I prefer them on the floor and I think they look best at a straight shot as opposed to an angle, but of course you couldn't put one in the center of a dance floor unless you own some kind of glass top dance floor you could put it under.
I'm not sure what model lasers I have but it was the first powerful consumer level/priced lasers American DJ released. That was a real "holy shit" moment for me. Green was the only color available at the time and I would dig a blue or purple laser too but for whatever reason those are the most expensive.
I toyed with DMX control for awhile and even have a mostly dust collecting hardware DMX controller with the faders and all that but then discovered the process of programming and choreographing was more effort than I was willing to do with very little public shows I would be doing.
When I first started incorporating lights into my "bring it all myself" DJ gigs I quickly found out it took me about 15 minutes to set up the audio gear but about an hour to set up the lighting gear and then do to some venues not being able to kill some house lights or not allowing fog I got discouraged and found it not worth the time or effort to go full balls out with the lights. Silliest gig I had with the lasers was outside with a slight breeze so I would have to be constantly triggering the fog and it would be about 5 seconds before it all just blew past the lasers and into the trees.
