I have a balanese gamelon kore instrument library and can load it into the kontakt 4 vst in Ableton.
I am trying to add an instrument from this library in sampler using the .nki file.
I located the nki files at: c:\users\public\public documents\balanese gamelon library\instruments\
when I double click on an nki file in the ableton browser it is not loaded into the ableton
library and does not show up in the sampler import directory.
I have successfully imported kontakt 4 instruments (tabla, for instance) double clicking on the .nki.
is there some restriction on kore instrument nki files for import to ableton?
(double clicking on the nki file brings up the instrument in standalone kontakt 4,
so the file is intact).
searched the forum but didn't track anything similar.
windows vista sp2, ableton 8.14, kontakt4 from komplete 6. balanese gamalon from kore pack.

Re: kore instrument from library not importing to ableton
I am not aware that NI nki files could be imported into Live. Unless this is a feature of Sampler.
Re: kore instrument from library not importing to ableton
try it! double click on the instruments .nki in the kontakt 4 library from Ableton's browser. it's imported to the sampler 'imports' directory, then drops in like any other ableton instrument.
it's in the sampler docs.

Re: kore instrument from library not importing to ableton
I tried it and you're right but I don't have Sampler. It did try though.
Re: kore instrument from library not importing to ableton
ok, great... maybe you can test further in demo mode for sampler. advantage is multisampling instruments, in my case.
thinking overnight, I'm going to look at the location of the wave files for the kontakt nki, versus
the kore nki. more later
