A way to get tempo data from Reason when Rewired to Live ?

Post by alwonrun » Fri Aug 20, 2010 1:55 pm

Hello, this is my first post on this forum (hope this will not be the last)

I use Reason rewired to Live (both last versions)
I often use on stage one single Live set for many songs partly pre-recorded in Reason tracks.
I wonder if there is a way to let Live (automatically or not) detect the recorded tempo of a Reason document, when opening it or when giving focus to its Reason window.
This would be very handy, particularly when I can't find the time to enter it manually.

If not, is there a way to only wiew the tempo recorded in Reason, without having to close it, close Live and re-open Reason ?

If someone knows - I didn't find !
Thanks.

Hello ShelLuser
Thanks for answer and for the browser tip.

I think that a somehow ability to optionnally "read and display" this kind of informations from an opening Rewired application would be a nice feature to add to future Live version. This may be a mission for me to suggest it to Ableton team...

I think, technically, that would be something to talk to the Props about. Ableton is just doing its job and acting as the master in the master/slave rewire relationship- which props is only allowed to act as the slave. Reason/Record do their job, in turn, and assume the new project tempo.

imho, having to open a file to verify tempo is not convenient- but it is more convenient than watching midi clocks get crazy like the daisy chain days when something got left toggled in the wrong spot... :D
