not a bad idea at all, think about tracking a drumcomputer and Live setting its BPM accordingly

smpte (or someting like that)

Sure we had this on early Cubase inthe studio back in to 90's - used to call it 'sumpty' ; recording starts when external audio signal is recieved.

No probs...

We used smpte all the sime back in the day... its like an ancient time code relic from the 70's but still works a dream. I think cubase still has it now though dont quote me on that!

(its 4;27 here in blighty so 7 mins into blaze o'clock and I'm at work for another 2 hours...)

best of luck with your wish...

that's not actually what smpte is used for.

I know its basicaly time code but I'm sure we had someting like smpte rigged to start recording midi/audio when a key was pressed...

when you get past 40 your memory fades...
