help please .... tracks not sounding perfect

when i import tracks in to ableton live 8 and play them , they never sound perfect ......
its like parts of the track slow down or clitch slightly . it happens on all track i play through it ....
i use a top of the range laptop with intel core 2 duo processor p7450
any help would be great

sounds like they are being warped- turn warping off on the clip
