Fix this please!
Re: pops/clicks where clips meet - Live 8 cross fade problem?
ummm thats funny. you guys are saying you think it is just a crossfader issue? I dont think so. I get this damn thing to happen every time on a virtual instrument. Of course not all instruments, not the host vsts... but others. I play a chord or something at midvolume and all i hear in addition to the notes are cracks and cracks crackle crackle crack... it is so annoying. makes live useless. I run the same plugin on a friends computer who uses cubase and guess what beautiful sound no crackle crack after crack. it has nothing to do whatsoever with latency. i have taken my interface to his pc and used it on there and this problem just does not exist whatsoever.

the issue that most of us are having is related to post-record. it sounds like your issue is playing a live instrument? am i correct?cartel00 wrote:ummm thats funny. you guys are saying you think it is just a crossfader issue? with my issue, i eliminate the automatic crossfade option and make sure to consolidate clips when im done editing them, and it seems to get rid of the pops/crackles. the sound most of us are talking about is more of a subtle pop/crackle though.
check everything you can from the instrument cables your using to the input connections.
whats your cpu specs and what version of ableton do you use?

everything was checked, this problem doesnt exist on other DAWs.

I can't believe this isn't solved yet!
Re: pops/clicks where clips meet - Live 8 cross fade problem?
are you using Complex Pro warp mode?
i've read elsewhere on here that it can cause pops and clicks

been having the same problem today, driving me nuts.
it's complex pro mode, setting to complex solves the issue for me,
8.2.2
10.6.6

Weird i just now noticed this also doesn't matter what clip settings are, still low audible clicks, also with samples too but mainly with kicks as iam automating them in sessions.
Edit: oh sorry nothing to say i just see that all the time in messages

pop/click problems.....
I THINK I HAVE IT!
I havn't read this whole post. so I apologise if someone has said this already.
In preferences>audio>latency>buffer size.
I dragged the buffer size al the way to 2048. (click apply)
then adjusted the 'driver error compensation' down/up so that the 'overall latency was at appx. 0.
This seemed to sort it for me (I hope).
(buffer size was the big problem, i believe. if it doesn't work for you try different numbers i.e not 2048)
I hope it works for you also.
Best,
Jackson

Re: pops/clicks where clips meet - Live 8 cross fade problem?
Hi guys,
Has anyone found any workaround or solution for this issue?
I downloaded Live's latest version 8.2.7 yesterday and I still get these clicks in between clips.
Thanks
Philippe

Re: pops/clicks where clips meet - Live 8 cross fade problem?
It's most likely a zero crossing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero_crossing).
I find turning on 'fade edges of clips' or whatever the setting is seems to help quite a bit.

Re: pops/clicks where clips meet - Live 8 cross fade problem?
It's not a zero crossing. Just a bug with clicks.

Yes yes yes, I found that out this weekend! That's the trick.cotdagoo wrote:It's most likely a zero crossing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero_crossing).

If you just click on the "FADE" button which you'll find between the Hi-Q and the RAM button on the clip (as shown below on the left-hand side of the pic) you will get rid of all clicks.
(I have live 8.2.7)
I can breathe again.
Cheers!
