Automat 0.4.2 crashes Live 8.2.1
Automat 0.4.2 crashes Live 8.2.1
Anyone been able to get Automat 0.4.2 working in Live 8? Just dragging Automat into an empty set crashes Live. It worked fine for me in Live 7.

Make sure you have the latest version of Automat, and also of Live 8 (Live 8.2.1). If the problem persists, contact technical support: http://www.ableton.com/support. Including any crash reports that you have.

OK, thanks so I'll assume that means Automat 0.4.2 is no longer compatible with Live 8.
What I'm trying to do is get all my Live Sets transferred from Live 7 to Live 8. The reason I wanted to continue with 0.4.2 is to keep the same sound preset in the Automat tracks.
If I drag Automat 1.0 onto a track that previously had 0.4.2, the preset is lost of course. If I save the preset in 0.4.2 & try to load it in 1.0, it loads an instance of 0.4.2 with the preset instead.
Is there any way to get my presets made with Automat 0.4.2 to load in 1.0?

This is more a question for alphakanal support now. One thing you could try - though this isn't guaranteed to work, and since it's not an Ableton product I can only say try it at your own risk - is to manually copy over the presets. go to Library/Audio/Presets/alphakanal, and you should see a folder called "Automat1". If there's another folder with a name like "Automat0_4_2", then that should be where your Automat 0.4.2 presets are stored. Copy the ones you want into the Automat1 preset folder.
Once again, that's just a possibility - to be sure, you'll want to get in touch with alphakanal: http://blog.alphakanal.de/

Re: Automat 0.4.2 crashes Live 8.2.1
Yes, I tried that as well...copying the presets to the Automat1 preset folder. But it's the same thing, when I load one of those presets in Automat 1.0, it still launches 0.4.2 over top of the 1.0 instance.
There's no contact info on the alphakanal site, however I had an old email address that I tried sending to a few days ago, not sure if it's still good. So I was hoping one of the Automat users in the community here could shed some light on the issue.
At this point, I'm guessing the presets won't transfer, would just like to confirm that before I go ahead with all the work of starting from scratch again...

I'm sure Iced must have found a solution or workaround at one point or another during the year that has passed...
